A radio program on poetry featuring discussion and readings. Originally broadcast over radio station WEVD, New York City, between 1948 and 1967. Copied in 1967 for the Archive of Recorded Poetry and Literature, Library of Congress, from 7-in. tapes lent by Florence Becker Lennon.
Abstract: During the program, remarks are made by Carl Cowl, Mr. McKay's literary executor; Roscoe Lee Browne reads from Selected poems of Claude McKay, including Songs for Jamaica, Americana, Baptism, and eight other poems. Ms. Lennon reads The anquish, by Edna St. Vincent Millay; Do not go gentle into that good night, by Dylan Thomas; and her own poem, We who are grown for sacrificial wine and bread.
