Abstract: Includes interfiled photographs of buildings documented for the Pictorial Archives of Early American Architecture (PAEAA) and inventory-level information called HABSI and HAERI for the Historic American Buildings Survey/Historic American Engineering Record. Arranged geographically by U.S. state, then city.
This assemblage of 50,000 design drawings documents architectural and engineering projects throughout the world, but chiefly in the United States. Well known architects and engineers include Benjamin Henry Latrobe, Charles Bulfinch, Robert Fulton, and Cass Gilbert. The entire surviving archives of firms based in Washington, D.C., area are among the largest units, including work by A.B. Mullett, Arthur B. Heaton, Chloethiel Woodard Smith, Donald Drayer, E. Jerome O'Connor, Iron Craftsman, Hugh Newell Jacobsen, Luther R. Ray, Thomas T. Waterman, Waddy B. Wood, and Waggaman & Ray.
